York, Maine- Let's take a step back into colonial New England and live slightly like the captains once did in the 18th Century.
Here's your chance.
York was first settled by Europeans in 1624. In 1652, York, Massachusetts, was incorporated making it the second oldest town in Maine. Harbor’s Haven offers you a peak into what life might have been.
This rental property will take you back into the late 1700's. It is a unique and very well-maintained property in the heart of York Harbor, York, Maine.
One of the great things about the Harbor’s Haven is its location. It is not centralized in the middle of Long Sands, although that is a great place when you have little ones in tow. No, Harbor’s Haven is located mere minutes from the following great places in and around York Harbor (16 minutes to walk one mile, therefore:)
If your morning routine includes a fresh hot coffee and a delicious bagel, the Bagel Basket in York Village is a simple 8 minute stroll up York St. Their double-toasted everything bagels and toppings are the fuel for a fabulous day!
The locals like to say, “watching a summer sunrise is like the start of a new vacation”. Catching the pre-sunrise sky and the every changing sunrise is one of the truly memorable experiences of York. Whether driving the 4.3 miles up to the Nubble Lighthouse, or walking 5 minutes to Harbor Beach, your morning will be memorable and your day long (as the sun can rise around 5 AM during the summer).
The Cliff Walk is a beautiful walk along the beach north of Harbor Beach, another 5 minute stroll from the front door.
Have you ever heard of the famous Wiggly Bridge? We we have a secret, walk straight out the front door, around the right side of St. George’s Church, down the sidewalk and you are on what few know as Fisherman’s Walk. Fisherman’s Walk includes the Wiggly Bridge when you head to the west and as you loop back around and travel towards the Atlantic, hop across the parking lot at Harbor Beach and onto the Cliff Walk entrance on the north side of the Harbor Beach parking loop.
This isn't your typical York Beach rental. In fact there is nothing else like it offered as a rental home! This is an EXPERIENCE! One we’re certain you will never forget!
This house is for those who want to experience the charm of the past and spend a week in a home that is subtly modern, with a brand new kitchen dressed to the nines with high end appliances, but has also been around for 250+ years.
The stairs are unique and hidden behind a door in the dining room, steep & warn from the years of family, friends & entertaining guests. The second floor hallway is aged and leans to one side. A few door frames may require a duck as you pass through if you are 6 ft tall!
The charm of this home is off the charts! If your agile enough to handle the oddities of a charming 1700's home- we'd love for you to experience the charm of York Harbor in a quiet, charming & centrally located gem!
The house is not a good fit for young children or for people who have problems with stairs. There is however a full bath and 2 bedrooms on the first floor. The Master has a Queen bed and Bedroom 2 has 2 twin beds.
The second floor has Bedroom 3 with a Full bed. The bathroom has a large jetted tub to soak in after a day of Maine Adventure. The washing machine is in the upstairs bathroom while the dryer is off the kitchen in the utility room.
There is a nice outdoor seating area with a gorgeous view of the historic back yard with stone walls surrounded by greenery. Calming and peaceful.
There is opportunity to reserve 2 historic homes on the property! Harbor’s Haven and Wisteria Cottage surrounded by greenery and stone walls. An amazing place for families to make memories. This is an experience you’ll be certain to never forget. Either rental is a unique prospect.
The perfect location for multiple families with a gorgeous green yard connecting the two.
When renting both homes there is sleeping for 10 total between the properties.

"Growing up in York, I've always loved the history and enjoyed living so close to the beach. Now that we live in Georgia, I've started to appreciate and realize how fortunate I truly was. Harbor's Haven is an amazing spot and one that I'm excited to bring grandchildren to one day. Thank you for finding this little piece of York that we can always come back to!"

"This was my third time in York and I have to say, it's one of the most unique places I've ever been. I have loved seeing all the history and natural beauty around the town and here at the cottage! I can see why people from York keep returning home. Can't wait to visit again!"

"Thank you for giving up the house for a few days. My family and I brought back my father whoa not been there for over 30 years! My mom passed away last year & this was a great way to go through emory lane with him. It was wonderful & the house felt like home.
Thanks for everything.
